Research and training at the PhD levels at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile represent two of the most fundamental pillars of the university’s academic duties. The “cultivation of knowledge” through research within the most varied disciplines, the encouragement of artistic creation, the promotion of new PhD programs and the development of interdisciplinary activities represent explicit goals for UC.
The entire UC community is involved to assure the correct execution of these goals: professors, students and staff. All of them working from the different academic units, PhD programs and different interdisciplinary research programs and centers.
The implementation and guidance of research and PhD policies as well as policies established by the Collegiate of Doctoral Programs, Arts and Culture, Transfer and Innovation, fall under the responsibility of the Vice-Rector of Research (VRI).
